This is a very busy intersection. Replacing stop signs with signal lights will allow for smoother flow of traffic on Pier Ave, and prevent cars traveling on Ardmore Ave and Valley Dr from speeding while trying to make it through the intersection. This will also make it safer for pedestrians to cross the streets.

I Disagree! Most of thevtime pepole would NOT STOP and end out hitting pedestrians! Especially in the Summertime. They you would need the police to watch drivers and give out tickets which eould Not help anyway

I disagree also because this is a small town and we already have so many new lights on lower PCH that it is difficult to get through and traffic is always piled up because of the lights. People who want to live here need to take responsibility for not being in such a hurry all the time and take responsibility for their own safety. We have many day trippers from other cities but they also need to be responsible for their safety. We can not save people from themselves. It is an impossible task.

I'm from a place that has medians throughout the city, and there are 2 lights for every intersection like this, meaning traffic piles up between the two (in our case between Valley and Ardmore). This intersection is no different, and would behave the same. Cars that have the green light on Ardmore would turn left onto pier, only to find cars stopped at a red light creating worse congestion than we have now. Therefore, the stop sign is the only viable option for this intersection, for we do not want people to begin breaking the law (going straight on red to alleviate the congestion).

Robert Allen,

Couldn't we sync the lights so that once they turned they could go right up the hill.
